Plastic Supply of San Antonio carries an extensive list of plastic products and supplies, such as acrylics, polycarbonate, vinyl, poly bags, and more! Click on any of the product titles below to expand.
The toughest of the clear plastics. Polycarbonate is a highly durable, high-performance thermoplastic. It is dimensionally stable, extremely impact resistant and has excellent optical properties. Polycarbonate is highly transparent with a greater light transmission than many types of glass. For use in high impact and durability applications when standard acrylic is not enough.
Widely used for forming machine parts and housings. ABS is used for constant wear and tear applications in all climates. Even though ABS plastics are used largely for mechanical purposes, they also have electrical properties that are fairly constant over a wide range of frequencies. These properties are little affected by temperature and atmospheric humidity in the acceptable operating range of temperatures.
PVC’s relatively low cost, biological and chemical resistance and workability have resulted in it being used for a wide variety of applications. It is an industrial grade plastic that can be used for ductwork, electrical insulation, and handling corrosive liquids.
UHMW is an industrial grade plastic that can be used in assembly lines as bushings and wear strips. It is very durable and has self-lubricating and non-stick properties.
In the first place, Delrin is a strong, industrial plastic. Delrin acetal homopolymer bridges the gap between metals and ordinary plastics with a unique combination of creep resistance, strength, stiffness, hardness, dimensional stability, toughness, fatigue resistance, solvent and fuel resistance, abrasion resistance, low wear and low friction.
Available in canvas, linen, and paper-based
A phenolic sheet is a hard, dense material made by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper or glass cloth impregnated with synthetic resin. In fact, these layers of laminations are usually of cellulose paper, cotton fabrics, synthetic yarn fabrics, glass fabrics or unwoven fabrics. Then heat and pressure are applied to the layers, and a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms them into a high-pressure thermosetting industrial laminated plastic. Phenolic is an industrial grade material used in electrical insulating, gears, router bases, spacers, and bushings. Usually, phenolic is extended by combining it with a filler.
Additionally, phenolics are usually compression molded and they also have good strength and toughness, good arc resistance and other electrical properties, not to mention, good resistance to solvents and high temperatures, and are bargain-priced.
G-10 The most versatile all-around laminate, this grade is a continuous glass woven fabric base impregnated with an epoxy resin binder. It has extremely high mechanical strength, good dielectric loss properties, and good electric strength properties, both wet and dry. G10 is also known as Micarta and Garolite and can be used for structural supports, buss bars, mechanical insulation, gears, test fixtures, washers, spacers and tight tolerance machined parts for electromechanical assemblies.
Teflon is an industrial grade material that can be used in extreme temperatures. For this reason, it is ideal for high stress and wear applications such as production lines.
Created with a micro-thin cap layer, the Matte product line is certainly perfect for rotary engravers looking to achieve detailed engraving. The Mattes are offered in a non-glare, matte finish that is rich in color and still durable and easy to fabricate.
Dozens of color combinations and a subtle brushed finished make Satins ideal for interior signage, nameplates, and personal identification.
Acrylic eggcrate louvers are available in two thicknesses, 3/8″ and 1/2. The standard size is 2′ x 4′, but it can be cut to smaller sizes. Numerous finishes are available, such as white, black and chrome (silver). Notably, eggcrate louvers play an important role in the lighting, ceiling, elevator cab, display, HVAC and packaging industries.
Tube protectors or safety sleeves are designed to contain glass particles in case of fluorescent lamp failure. They are available in a myriad of colors for decorative purposes. Regardless, many safety codes require covering fluorescent lamps with safety sleeves when used in certain areas. Safety sleeves are typically used in food processing plants, factories, supermarkets, and restaurant kitchens.
Coroplast – Polyflute St
Stock Colors: White, Black, Yellow, Blue, Green, Orange, Red, and Clear.
Coroplast is a twinwall poly sheet available in clear and colors. It is certainly the material of choice for today’s screen printing industry and is ideal for indoor and outdoor applications. In fact, it is tougher than corrugated fiberboard and lighter than extruded plastic sheet. It is waterproof and stain-resistant.
All Coroplast stock sheets are electrostatically double treated by “Corona Discharge” on both sides to allow specifically formulated inks and adhesives to adhere.
